George

George is a highly experienced tutor specialising in English Literature and Philosophy. He recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a high distinction in his Linguistics master’s and won the Johnston Prize for academic excellence. Before that, he completed a philosophy conversion at the University of St Andrews and a first-class BA in English Literature. He will be starting a PhD in Psychology in September 2026, with research focusing on how children learn abstract concepts.

George tutors English Literature, History and Religious Studies at A Level, and also teaches English Literature at Wentworth College. He has extensive experience preparing students for their 11+ and 13+ exams, helping them gain entry into their desired schools. His formal training across English, Philosophy and Linguistics makes him particularly effective in developing students’ essay writing skills and critical thinking.
