Hugh

Hugh is a dedicated and highly experienced tutor specialising in Mathematics and Physics. He recently completed a DPhil in Surgical Sciences at the University of Oxford and holds a First-Class MSci in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London. With over a decade of tutoring experience, Hugh brings a rare combination of subject expertise, teaching insight, and academic rigour to his lessons.

Hugh teaches Maths, Further Maths, IB Maths, and Physics at all levels, from GCSE through to university entrance. His students consistently achieve top results, and over 20 of his recent students have exceeded their predicted grades or secured places at leading universities.

He is particularly effective in preparing students for competitive exams and university admissions, including STEP, PAT, MAT, and Oxbridge interviews. Known for his ability to reframe complex topics and explain them from multiple angles, Hugh adapts to each student’s learning style to build confidence and lasting understanding.

Hugh has worked extensively with both UK-based and international students. His academic background in both research and communication makes him especially effective at helping students master technical content and develop the analytical skills needed for exam and long-term success.
