Jaheem

Psychology, English Language, and English Literature

Jaheem specialises in Psychology at A Level and also teaches History at both GCSE and A Level. At GCSE he supports students in English Language, English Literature and Mathematics, and he teaches English and Mathematics at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3. Alongside his subject tutoring, he guides older students through their university applications and personal statements.

Jaheem has tutored for close to three years, working with students from primary level through to A Level as well as those preparing university applications. He has been a dependable presence for the students he works with, many of whom returned to him regularly and booked additional sessions in the run-up to their examinations. He has also spent a year as a SEND Tutor Fellow in a London school, where he designed, delivered and assessed structured psychoeducational interventions for students with a range of neurodivergent profiles, including ASD and ADHD, and provided daily targeted English support to pupils at risk of falling behind. This work has given him particular skill in adapting his teaching to each individual learner and in supporting students who need a more patient, carefully tailored approach.

Jaheem’s central belief is that every student needs something slightly different, and he adapts constantly to the young person in front of him. In Psychology, his specialism, he focuses on helping students build a broad and secure knowledge of key studies, then teaching them to connect and apply those studies across different topics, an ability many students find difficult but which is essential for constructing strong exam answers and meeting each assessment objective. Across all his subjects he pays close attention to the moments where a student becomes stuck, working patiently to turn them into secure understanding and better marks.

Jaheem holds a BA in Education, Psychology and Learning from the University of Cambridge, a degree that pairs subject knowledge with a genuine grounding in how students learn. He achieved A* grades in Psychology, History and Sociology at A Level, along with nine GCSEs at grades 7 to 9, including Mathematics and English Language.

The combination of a Cambridge education in psychology and learning, close to three years of tutoring experience and hands-on work supporting students with additional needs makes Jaheem especially effective across primary, GCSE and A Level, and particularly with young people who benefit from a patient, carefully tailored approach.
