Jenny specialises in English and Spanish, supporting students from 11+ preparation through GCSE, IGCSE, A Level and IB. In Spanish she teaches learners at every stage, from complete beginners through to advanced students.

Jenny has tutored for more than 250 hours with over twenty students, earning consistently five-star reviews. She teaches predominantly online and across a wide age range, from ten-year-olds preparing for 11+ entrance through to A Level and IB candidates. Her results speak clearly: she guided one student from a grade 3 to a grade 8 in IGCSE Spanish, and helped a student who had recently arrived from Ukraine raise her average GCSE English grade from a 2 to a 5. During a year abroad in Spain she worked as a British Council English Language Assistant in a primary school, planning and delivering full lessons to eleven classes as the sole English-speaking member of staff, which deepened both her classroom experience and her command of Spanish.

Jenny believes that much of success in English comes from truly understanding the mark scheme, and she makes sure her students know precisely what examiners are looking for and how to give it to them. She is skilled at adapting her approach to each individual, breaking difficult concepts such as inference into small, manageable steps, and she has considerable experience supporting students for whom English is an additional language. Her lessons combine focused work on skills and technique with regular independent writing between sessions, so that students build genuine fluency rather than simply reviewing content.

Jenny is reading for a BA in English and Spanish at Exeter College, University of Oxford, a course that included a year living and teaching in Spain. She achieved A* grades in Spanish and English Literature at A Level, along with grade 9 across all her GCSEs, and she holds an Advanced International TEFL qualification. She is a native English speaker with professional proficiency in Spanish.
