Sneha

English

Sneha Chowdhury is an accomplished and inspiring English Literature graduate from the University of Cambridge and a Law conversion course student at City, University of London. Sneha believes English is not just a subject but a way of understanding ourselves and the world around us. It teaches us how to reflect, articulate, empathise, and connect. As a tutor, her aim is not only to help students secure top grades, but to nurture a real and lasting enjoyment of the subject—one that empowers them both academically and personally.

Sneha achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature, alongside 9 GCSEs at A*–A, including top grades in English Language and Mathematics. She went on to earn an A* in English Literature and strong A grades in History and Psychology at A Level. At the University of Cambridge, she achieved a First-Class Distinction in her postcolonial literature paper, demonstrating her academic depth and critical engagement with complex texts. Sneha has extensive experience tutoring English Language and Literature from KS3 to A Level across a range of exam boards, and also provides expert support for entrance exams and university admissions, including Oxbridge.

Equipped with 8 years of tutoring experience, her teaching style is clear, creative, and compassionate. Sneha focuses on building students’ analytical, essay writing, and critical thinking skills, using a step-by-step approach that moves from close reading and quotation analysis to wider thematic discussion. She helps students develop confidence in their own voice—whether in a persuasive argument, a piece of creative writing, or a thoughtful interpretation of a poem.

Sneha brings a wealth of wider experience to her sessions. She has led writing workshops in schools and community spaces, and is also an accomplished public speaker—she was a regional finalist in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. She is passionate about combining academic rigour with creativity, and believes that strong communication is key to success in any subject.

Outside of tutoring, Sneha enjoys painting natural landscapes and is the founder of her university’s first-ever Art Society, where she teaches and manages events. A self-taught pianist, guitarist and singer, she performed at Fitzwilliam College’s Spring Ball. Deeply committed to justice and charity, Sneha has raised over £9,000 through independent art-led initiatives to support orphans and families in need across the world.

Sneha’s sessions are personalised, thorough, and thoughtfully planned. She is deeply passionate about English and sees her students’ success as her own. She is committed to helping every learner feel empowered, engaged, and genuinely inspired by the subject.
